Kilkenny Cookery School Class Schedule – April/May 2015

I’m delighted to launch the class schedule for April/May 2015 for Kilkenny City’s first cookery school.  The school provides a range of exciting cookery, baking and cake decorating classes for budding junior chefs from six years old to home cooks refining their culinary skills. We have something for everyone coming up in the class schedule. I hope to see you soon at Kilkenny Cookery School!

Saturday, April 18th 10.30am – 13.30pm

Cake Decorating Masterclass’ Adults                                                                     €55 per person

Presented by pastry chef, expert cake decorator and founder of ‘A Slice of Heaven’, Mary McEvoy, this masterclass will show how to expertly ice and decorate your own cake using flowers, dots, quilting and bear. Dummy cakes are provided which are yours to take away to impress those at home with your creativity!

‘Sweet Treats’ Adults                                                                                                         €55 per person

This class includes making delicious lemon and blueberry cake; shortbread; gluten-free chocolate cake and A Slice of Heaven’s famous walnut whips and mikados! All attending will take away a special ‘goodie’ box of the treats created to enjoy at home.

‘Afternoon Tea’ Adults                                                                                                    €55 per person

Kilkenny Cookery School’s ‘Afternoon Tea’ class will ensure you host the perfect Afternoon Tea experience. In this class learn to make a variety of pastries using a range of techniques from crème brulee to brandy snaps; shortbread to coffee and walnut cake and, of course, the perfect scone. Following the practical, hands-on demonstration you are invited to Kilkenny Cookery School’s special dining area to enjoy a traditional Afternoon Tea experience.

A brand new series, exclusive to Kilkenny Cookery School, the ‘Children’s Cooking Club’ features a series of five weekly classes where budding cooks learn to create beautiful breads, delicious and simple pastas, tasty pastries and much more…giving children the opportunity to learn valuable life skills in a fun, supportive environment. 5.30pm – 7.30pm every Thursday.

‘One Chicken, Five Recipes’ Adults                                                                          €65 per person

One to mark in your diary: Award-winning chef, Neil McEvoy, will demonstrate how to get the most from your local, free range chicken using the legs, wings and breast, as well as creating chicken liver parfait, and a beautiful home-made stock.
